The StrongAuth KeyAppliance is designed to be installed with a minimum of two appliances. This is necessary to replicate encrypted data and keys between the two for business continuity. As a result, the SAKA installation follows a process where the tasks are alternated between the two appliances. This chapter describes these tasks. The appliance expected to service requests most of the time is known as the Primary SAKA, while the appliance designated to service requests when the Primary SAKA is unavailable for any reason, is known as the Secondary SAKA in this documentation.
