All SKFS web services require one of two authentication schemes to ensure that a request sender is authenticated and/or authorized:

• Password-based authentication, which requires Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) service credentials
• Hashed Message Authentication Code (HMAC)-based authentication, which requires the use of a secret key and an access key
