    Fido Registration with Idem Key Plus

    The following section details how to do FIDO registration with an Idem Key Plus.

     

    1. StrongKey has a website that allows you to register a Security Key that has PIV and FIDO enabled, like the Idem Key Plus. The url is: https://demo5.strongkey.com/pki2fido/angular/#/
    2. The Security Key that is inserted into the computer should have the correct certificate loaded into it before you connect to the website. Upon connecting it will ask you to choose a certificate to present as identification.


    3. Select the StrongKey certificate using the dropdown menu and click “Ok”. It should then take you to a screen indicating that the certificate has passed verification. Click on “Continue”.


    4. If you are on Windows, it will ask you to enter the Windows PIN. Cancel that, and it will instead ask you to verify using the FIDO PIN on the Security Key. If there is no FIDO PIN on the Security Key, then you will be prompted to create one.


    5. Input a suitable FIDO security PIN and click “OK”. If you are not logged into Mozilla Firefox with the Security Key, you will be prompted to enter the User PIN for the it. Enter the User PIN and click “Sign In”.


    6. You should now be taken to a page that indicates successful registration of the FIDO Security Key.
