Troubleshooting Steps for a Cluster:
If you’re encountering issues with your two-node cluster, please follow these steps to troubleshoot:
- Verify FQDN and TCP/IP address of both Nodes:
- Ensure that the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) and the corresponding TCP/IP address for each node are correctly configured.
- DNS or /etc/hosts Configuration:
- Confirm that both FQDNs and TCP/IP addresses are accessible via DNS or in the /etc/hosts file of both nodes.
- Ping web service:
- Verify that both nodes are responding with the message "StrongKey FIDO Server is alive!" when pinged.
- Use either the skfsadminclient or the ping web service on each node to perform this check.
- Additionally, attempt to execute the ping command from one node to the other - this will confirm that the port is accessible over the network and not being blocked by the firewalls.
- Verify Policy:
- Ensure both nodes have the same FIDO policy by querying the policy via the getpolicy web service or skfsadminclient.
- Confirm that the same RPID is configured for both nodes in the policy.
- Test Connection using cURL:
- Use curl (or an equivalent command) to test the connection to the web service ports of both nodes from the load balancer. This will help confirm that the web services are reachable
- TLS Certificates (If using Load Balancer):
- If a load balancer is used, verify that the TLS certificates for both nodes are trusted by the load balancer.
- Review Server logs:
- Check the server.log located in /usr/local/strongkey/payara6/glassfish/domains/domain1/logs.If there are multiple log files, ensure you review the one with relevant log messages for the error encountered.
